Investors Remain Uncertain on Apple’s Future Stock Value

The news that Apple was launching a new device not that long after the wild success of both its iPod Touch and iPhone lead many investors to speculate what it could be. When the iPad was shown to the public, investor confidence grew, but now upon the news that the tablet style computer has not sold well as some had hoped, things look shaky for share holders who are invested in Apple. The company’s ability to raise publicity has certainly stayed strong, but the sales results are so far not as promising as the company predicted. With the prominence of other digital devices such as the Amazon Kindle and a new social media oriented Project Pink phone on the way from Microsoft, many consumers appear to be hedging their bets and staying cautious. The tech loving audiences that regularly buy out Apple products have certainly done their part, but investors hoped the device would catch fire in a way similar to the iPhone a few short years ago.
Apple has declined to comment on the sales of its iPad in terms of offering a forecast nor been willing to discuss its stock at this time. Some analysts are predicting optimistic results, citing that the average Apple device consumer are not early adopters and that by the end of this year 5.5 million units will likely be sold. It remains to be seen if investors will stay positive, but the opening weekend sales of nearly a million units seems to be a plus for most, with Apple’s stock price rising after the first few days of iPad sales.
